Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Architect with specialized expertise in Health Cloud and Life Sciences Cloud to lead architecture design and implementation for patient services and clinical operations solutions. This role will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and patient-centric architectures that support end-to-end patient journeys—from patient onboarding, benefits verification, and enrollment to therapy orchestration, adherence support, adverse event management, and personalized engagement.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience architecting patient services programs (PSP), hub services, and clinical operations workflows within highly regulated life sciences environments, with working knowledge of GxP, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, and global privacy regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture for Salesforce implementations leveraging Health Cloud and Life Sciences Cloud, with deep focus on Patient Services Programs (PSP) and clinical operations.
- Design robust patient data models using the Unified Patient Record, Care Plans, Patient Journeys, and Life Sciences industry data model.
- Architect solutions for key Patient Services capabilities including:
- Patient enrollment & onboarding
- Insurance benefits verification & re-verification
- Hub services & case management
- Therapy orchestration & adherence programs
- Personalized next-best-action / patient engagement
- Adverse event / pharmacovigilance intake & reporting
- Savings / copay assistance programs
- Patient portals and self-service experiences
- Define technical strategy, integration architecture, security & sharing model, and governance for multi-org or hyper-cloud environments.
Integration & Data Architecture
- Establish canonical models and APIs with Integration Layer/MDM and hub partners (e.g., Pharmacord/McKesson), eRx/eBV/PA, and omnichannel services.
- Define and oversee data models, security architecture, API integrations (FHIR/HL7), and performance optimization strategies.careers.
- Architect integrations between Salesforce and external systems (LIMS, ERP, EHR, logistics or courier platforms) using MuleSoft or similar tools.
- Ensure data lineage, identity resolution, and consent enforcement across patient touchpoints.
Security, Privacy & Compliance
- Embed platform security (Shield, encryption, BYOK), SSO/JIT, auditability, and retention; align with patient privacy, AE/PC reporting flows, and validation needs.jobright+1
- Architect and design scalable, secure, and high-performance Salesforce solutions that align with industry best practices and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, PHI, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11).
- Ensure adoption of Salesforce best practices, governor limit optimization, performance tuning, and code quality standards.
- Guide teams on Salesforce security model, data access, sharing rules, consent management, and compliance needs.
Technical Leadership & Governance
- Lead a team of architects focused on driving optimized solutions for our Life Sciences industry clients leveraging Salesforce Health Cloud, Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, and Experience Cloud.
- Provide technical governance, conduct design/code reviews, and manage architectural risks and technical debt.
- Review and approve high-level and low-level technical designs, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

Stakeholder Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, translating clinical or commercial operations requirements into technical architecture.careers.
- Partner with Salesforce COE, IT Cross Functional Teams, Patient Excellence, Field Operations, and Compliance to prioritize value, shape release scope, and communicate trade-offs and decisions to leadership.
- Collaborate closely with Global Salesforce COE team and track Salesforce roadmap (LSC, Agentforce, Data Cloud, Einstein), evaluate fit for patient-services scenarios, and pilot responsibly.
- Participate in pre-sales activities such as discovery and technical deep-dive sessions, Proof-Of-Concept development with prospects, estimations, help in creating release roadmap, timelines, etc.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of Salesforce experience, including 3+ years in an architect-level role.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce Health Cloud or Life Sciences Cloud, specifically with Patient Services Programs, clinical operations, or advanced therapy modules.
- Active Salesforce Certified Architect credential (Application Architect, System Architect, or Technical Architect).
- Experience architecting integrations between Salesforce and external systems (LIMS, ERP, EHR, logistics or courier platforms) using MuleSoft or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of life sciences regulatory frameworks including 21 CFR Part 11, GxP/CSV, and HIPAA.
- Strong command of Salesforce data model, security architecture, and automation (Flow, Apex).
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to translate clinical or commercial operations requirements into technical architecture.
- Experience in clinical trial operations (chain of custody or chain of identity tracking) or commercial patient services and hub scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce Advanced Therapy Module (ATM) in Health Cloud or Life Sciences Cloud for cell & gene therapy lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with Veeva CRM, IQVIA OCE, or other life sciences commercial platforms.
- Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, Tableau, and Einstein AI capabilities for patient analytics and insights.
- Knowledge of FHIR/HL7 healthcare data standards and integration patterns.
- Experience working with global life sciences clients (pharma, biotech, medtech) across US, EU, and APAC markets.
- Prior consulting or professional services experience in a client-facing role.
