Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer to join our team and take ownership of endpoint management, provisioning, and security across our device fleet. In this role, you will be a subject matter expert in Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and AutoPatch, driving automation, compliance, and a seamless end-user experience at scale. You'll work cross-functionally with IT, security, and operations teams to design and maintain robust endpoint solutions built on the Microsoft ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and maintain endpoint management solutions using Microsoft Intune, including policy configuration, compliance baselines, and app deployment across Windows environments.
- Lead the design, configuration, and ongoing management of Windows Autopilot enrollment profiles and deployment scenarios (user-driven, pre-provisioned, and self-deploying), delivering a consistent zero-touch provisioning experience.
- Own and optimize Intune AutoPatch to automate Windows Update cycles, ensuring devices remain patched and compliant with minimal manual intervention.
- Develop and document standardized device configuration and provisioning processes, ensuring consistency, repeatability, and alignment with security policies.
- Collaborate with the security team to enforce endpoint compliance, Conditional Access policies, and remediation workflows within Azure AD (Entra ID).
- Troubleshoot complex endpoint issues across the Microsoft stack, acting as the primary escalation point for junior team members and helpdesk staff.
- Continuously evaluate and improve endpoint management processes, tooling, and automation to reduce manual overhead and enhance reliability.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in desktop engineering, endpoint management, or a related IT infrastructure role.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Microsoft Intune - including compliance policies, configuration profiles, app packaging and deployment, and RBAC.
- Strong, proven experience with Windows Autopilot, including deployment profile configuration, hybrid Azure AD join, and troubleshooting enrollment issues.
- Hands-on experience with Intune AutoPatch for automated, policy-driven update management.
- Solid understanding of Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Conditional Access, and the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
- Experience scripting and automating endpoint tasks using PowerShell.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows 10/11 environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
Nice to Have
- Experience with JAMF Pro or JAMF Now for macOS/iOS device management.
- Experience with ConnectWise (Manage, Automate, or Control) in a managed services or MSP environment.
- Familiarity with ITSM workflows and ticketing platforms.
- Microsoft certifications such as MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator) or MS-102 (Enterprise Administrator Expert).
- Experience with SCCM / Microsoft Configuration Manager and hybrid co-management scenarios.
- Background working in an MSP or multi-tenant endpoint management environment.
